Project activity up in January with Energy leading the way

As reported by Industrial Reports: Research by Industrial Reports, Inc. shows January combined planned capital spending for U.S. and Canadian industrial projects improved by 47 percent compared to December. Spending for the two nations totaled $29.38 billion compared to December planned investment of $19.98 billion. The research organization reported a combined 279 planned U.S. and Canadian projects for the month.

 January planned project investment in the U.S. was $19.02 billion, which is a 1.8 percent gain from the December total of $18.69 billion. Canadian investment recovered from a dismal year-end, rebounding to $10.36 billion in planned spending from the December total of $1.29 billion. Projects in both nations ranged in value from $500,000 to $8.9 billion.

 Energy projects led in the U.S. with $10.33 billion in planned investment, followed by process projects with $4.68 billion. Water and wastewater projects accounted for $1.20 billion in planned U.S. spending.

Kathleen Rose, CRE, CCIM, President & CEO of Rose & Associates Southeast, Inc. of Davidson has been awarded the CRE (Counselor of Real Estate) credential by The Counselors of Real Estate, an international group of high profile real estate practitioners who provide expert advisory services to clients on complex real property and land-related matters.  The credential was awarded on May 4th at the Counselors’ 2011 Midyear Meetings in San Diego. 

Professionally, Rose specializes in real estate market analysis, economic development, due diligence and asset strategies for both public and private sector clients throughout the southeast. Rose is also active in revitalization and development projects, including South Main Square in downtown Davidson and the town’s pilot Project for Innovation, Energy & Sustainability (PiES), the state’s first green business incubator.

Research by Industrial Reports, Inc. shows planned project investment in the U.S. was $20.30 billion in November, which is little changed from the October total of $20.16 billion.  Energy projects led in the U.S. with $10.20 billion in planned investment, followed by process projects at $4.95 billion.  Manufacturing facility projects accounted for $2.39 billion in planned U.S. spending. North Carolina was the U.S. November project activity leader with 20 planned projects. Ohio and California each reported 18 planned projects while Texas reported 15.

South Main Square / PiES scores 91 out of 100 in walkability

A new tool on the Walk Score website includes an amenity map – to show the walkability of a property/location and the amenities within walking distance. Check out our project/pilot South Main Square in Downtown Davidson www.southmainsquare.com and see our Amenity Map – we scored 91 out of 100! The only downside is it didn’t pick the restaurants right on site, but otherwise shows how close everything really is. Enter your address and find out the walk score and get an amenity map for your community or business. Enjoy!
